 Such as……..

Boy, is it great to be back at work.  I have missed playing and travelling so much! This past weekend we were in New Jersey, where we have many great friends.  It was so amazing to see them and be together for the first time in over a year.  We played what might be the windiest show ever on Friday night.  It was a steady 25 and gusting up to 35.  Luckily that was less than the forecast.  It was calling for sustained 40 and gusts up to 60.  We were on the precipice of cancelling all day long.  Lots of monitoring the onsite weather station.  We would have rescheduled for Sunday, but nobody wanted to do that for numerous reasons.

Financially, it is difficult for us as we have to pay the drivers for an extra day, book another night of hotel rooms, extra crew pay and per diems, and change airline tickets.

For the promoter, it would have been much worse.  An added day of venue rental, stage, crew, security, catering, police and ambulance, etc. would have turned this into a losing venture on their side.  The last thing we want as a business, is to have the people who pay us end up losing money and a postponement would have meant that for sure.  Thank you weather gods!

Personally, I did not want it to happen so I could make it home on Sunday and be with the family on our 12th anniversary.  I did and we had a great day.

The shows were a lot of fun.  We are so happy to be back that the energy on stage is super high and really helps elevate our playing.  I thought we played very well all weekend.

I was also able to get in a couple of rounds of golf with a very good friend and that was the icing on the cake.

This is a labor of love and it is an honor to have these conversations and share them with you. I hope to be able to continue this for a long time

 Thanks for listening!
